Memorial Day sign
Memorial Day
is a time for us to honor and remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. It is a moment to reflect on their courage and dedication, and to express our deepest gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Montclair’s African American Heritage Parade
June 1 is going to be a fun day in Montclair! It’s the Montclair African-American Heritage Foundation Parade and Festival – chock full of history and culture! Please join us and march with Montclair Public Schools. All our welcome – bring your kids and strollers – the activities at Nishuane Park are fabulous and the kids will love it.

Spring Concert
Spring Concert 2024
What an outstanding spring concert! Students, your wonderful performances were inspiring and showcased your dedication to music. Shout out to our music guru, Mr. Creekmore for the wonderful shows, to Ms. McCool and her ASE students for the beautiful decorations, and to the staff and parents who volunteered to assist in the evening performances. Thank you all for helping make it a memorable event!

Traffic Alert
Traffic Concerns
I am not a fan of these types of messages to our families, and yet I find myself writing them yet again. Practicing safe driving is not a suggestion. The safety of our kids and families is our top priority, and it's crucial to avoid any form of unsafe driving. There is no tolerance for reckless driving anywhere, especially in a school setting. So, please, let's all be proactive in ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Your cooperation is greatly needed and appreciated.

Bike Montclair
The Bike Bus Family Growing!
Bradford teacher, Kevin Barry joined our Bike Bus family, which made it even more exciting. They were also newsworthy! Check out the great story on CBS.

Green Team Planting event
Bradford's Spring Community Planting Day - 5/18 🌱🌿
Over 25 families attended and helped plant 150 different flowers and plants along the front of the school in addition to the harder and less seen work of weeding, digging holes, spreading mulch, pruning trees, and watering our seedlings. Thank you so much to everyone who participated! Please sign up here if you would like to learn about additional future Green Team activities. Here is a photo album of the event and some key highlights.

May 13-24th
These last two weeks the 4th and 5th grade classes have been sitting Circles to understand what racism is and how it affects our Bradford community and causes harm. We also discussed ways we can prevent racism from entering our community.

“I see what’s possible when we recognize that we are one American family, all deserving of equal treatment.” Barack Obama

All other classes sat Circle to discuss what it means to belong. “Belonging is when you are part of something, it’s when you feel included, valued and safe.” -Kevin Carroll (Author of “A Kids Book About Belonging”)
We discussed how the feeling of belonging has to start with ourselves. When we are confident and know our worth we know we don’t have to pretend to be someone else just to fit in. “Find those people, places, and groups that you can belong to just by being you.” -Kevin Carroll
